Here we explain how to properly put fins on and safely enter the water! It sounds easy, but we have seen it done incorrectly too many times on the beach. If you are placing fins on and walking forward you are damaging the fins and this method is really unsafe as you risk tripping and falling!
Here are our tips and video for how to properly wear fins and enter the water!
Tip #1 - Size Matters!
It is important that you have the right size fins. Our fins are adjustable!
Make sure to watch in the video - how to tighten your straps evenly on our Cressi Palau fins. There are clips on each side and we show you how to adjust these!
Tip #2 - Sit Close to the Water Or Enter the Water with Your Fins
You have two options for entering the water and putting your fins on. 1. Sit close to the water. This makes it easy to get in. Once you have fins on, walk backwards into the water...heal first. 2. Hold your fins, enter the water in about waist deep water and strap fins on that way. Whichever you are comfortable with! Either option works
Tip #3 - Do Not Walk in Fins
When you Exit the water sit down and unstrap fins or take them off in the water. Walking in the fin breaks them and you do not want to risk tripping and falling!
Tip #4 - Have Fun!
Have fun and enjoy snorkeling. Always let someone know where you are going or swim with a buddy. We also encourage our Cressi Snorkel Life Vests. It makes it easier for snorkeling. If you have to stand on rocks and the reef whiles snorkeling, you really should not be and should have some kind of flotation device that way snorkeling does not become so tiresome. Always remember if you have to stand, Stand in the sand! Make sure to always be aware of of your surrondings when snorkeling including boats and jetskis.
